Driving I’m pulled aside.
All that I can tell, it’s cause I got no seatbelt.
Reach inside grab my ID,
that’s when I felt it, that’s when I fell.

Pop pop goes a gun, oh
but I don’t have one.
I carry no gun. I carry no gun. I carry no gun.
I never had one!
My hands up…

Chorus
I represent your greatest fear, your terror.
The monster you think see ain’t real.
I’m human!  I’m human!
Just like the ones you love.  No different.
Just like the ones you love.  No different.
Just like the ones you love.  No different.
I’m no different from you.

Rainy night, things on my mind.
Walking by myself, hood over my head.
You come up behind me, and profile me.
I shake my head.  Not this again!

Pop pop goes a gun, oh
but I don’t have one.
I carry no gun. I carry no gun. I carry no gun.
I never had one!
My hands up…

Bridge
I’m not guilty of a crime.
No, nothing, absolutely nothing can justify
(how) you judge me: too tall, too dark, too big.
Don’t judge me! I’m not a statistic!
You don’t even know me!
Not acceptable harm me with your
bias, prejudice, violence, no!
I just wanna live in peace, I only ask for tolerance
and kindness, best remedy I know.
But only love will save us.

Chorus
I represent your greatest fear, your terror.
The monster you think see ain’t real.
I’m human!  I’m human!
Just like the ones you love.  No different.
Just like the ones you love.  No different.
Just like the ones you love.  No different.
I’m no different from you.

We’re human…
