Lafayette Summer Music Workshop
August 2-7
The Lafayette Summer Music Workshop, now in its seventeenth year, provides an intimate and inspiring environment for learning and playing jazz. Master classes, improvisation workshops and jazz combos are led by some of the preeminent professional musicians in the field. The workshop is directed by Stanley Middle School music director Bob Athayde and jazz curriculum director Kyle Athayde. Kids – middle school, high school and adults have a blast!
2015 faculty, other than me, include Piano: Joan Cifarelli, Sullivan Fortner, Frank Martin; Drums: Deszon Claiborne, Dave Meade, Akira Tana; Bass: Eliana Athayde, Peter Barshay, Robb Fisher, Dan Parenti, Dewayne Pate; and many others!
