Hello friends!

April is over and May is upon us. But what a fabulous month April was! Chelsea, my incredible co-composer, and I spent a few weeks squeezing every bit of creativity out of our brains, creating the last few songs for MARIAN: we now have a “want” song, an “11th hour” song and a finale!! And they’re all winners!

We then held an artist’s retreat in NYC at the end of April, where we had the opportunity to rehearse the songs and do a read-through with a phenomenal cast of Broadway performers. It was such a gift to be able to listen to the score sung by those voices. I’m still in awe…we created a musical!It’s still a bit too long, and I’m sure we’ll make more changes as we go along, but for now, we couldn’t be happier.

For the April artist’s retreat, I was able to reconnect with some friends from my days at the Donna Summer Musical, including Kaye Tuckerman and Andrew Wildman Foster. It was a glorious time, surrounded by beautiful people and great food provided by our own Chef Michael!

For the month of May, I’m in Louisville, KY, working with two other SUMMER alums: Ken and Christina Robinson, as MD on their new musical, Still Ready. If you’re in the area, please come see the show!
